The well-loved all-abilities playground at Hurlingham Playground in South Perth was removed in 2021. It was replaced with some Forpark Australia equipment while the City of South Perth worked with the community to devise a plan for a replacement for the previous accessible equipment. This playground upgrade offers a great opportunity for all the children in the local community to play together on the beautiful Swan River foreshore against the Perth cityscape background.
We extended the pit, re-jigged the existing equipment and installed a new accessible Essentials structure featuring ramps from ground level, sensory and interactive play features on the structure and at ground level. The structure includes various levels of challenging access points as well as an enclosed tunnel slide and double slide.
During this upgrade, we had the opportunity to add limestone walls to this pit as well as an accessible swing seat, rubber pad under the double slide and a path from the existing path to the structure.
